BionIT Labs, an Italian medtech company and the developer of Adam’s Hand, the world’s first fully-adaptive bionic hand, has opened its U.S. headquarters in Chattanooga. The new office will serve as the company’s hub for all of North America, coordinating distribution, clinician training, and technical support.
The opening was marked by a ribbon-cutting event last week with the Chattanooga Chamber of
Commerce, where local leaders, clinicians, and community members gathered to celebrate the city’s growing role as a destination for healthcare innovation.
BionIT Labs chose Chattanooga for its strong healthcare and manufacturing ecosystem, reputation for innovation, and welcoming business community. From its base in the Scenic City, the team will streamline distribution, deliver hands-on technical support, and foster collaborations with prosthetists, clinicians, and universities throughout the U.S. and Canada.
“Chattanooga combines everything we were looking for — innovation, collaboration, and community,” said Giovanni Zappatore, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of BionIT Labs. “With this headquarters, we’re not only closer to U.S. prosthetists and patients, but we’re also making Chattanooga the launch point for advanced prosthetic technologies across North America.”
BionIT Labs entered the U.S. market in July 2024 with Adam’s Hand®, which features a unique “Fully Adaptive Grip” technology: users simply open or close the hand while the fingers automatically conform to the object’s shape and size, enabling more natural, intuitive use. Alongside the original device, the company recently introduced Adam’s Hand Small, designed for users with smaller hand sizes, further broadening accessibility. The company is also expanding its product portfolio with complementary solutions to support prosthetists and people with limb differences throughout their prosthetic journey.
