Being near the top on this list is not good

WalletHub ranks each of the 50 states and the District of Columbia according to their struggles with hiring employees.

If you are an employer, this is one list where you don’t want your state to score highly.

We’re talking about WalletHub‘s ranking of the 50 states and the District of Columbia that struggle the most or the least with hiring. According to the personal finance website, the evaluation was based on two factors:

  • Job openings rate (latest month): double weight (~66.67 points); and
  • Job openings rate (last 12 months): full weight (~33.33 Points).

Tennessee ranked #15, much better than neighboring states like West Virginia (#2), South Carolina (#3), Georgia (#4), Louisiana (#6), Mississippi (#8), North Carolina (#10), and Virginia (#13).
