ARC announces “READY Appalachia” initiative with first focus on nonprofits
The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) has announced “READY Appalachia,” a new community capacity-building initiative that offers free cohort-based learning, training, and flexible funding to Appalachian nonprofits, community foundations, local governments, and local development districts. “By helping local leaders and nonprofit organizations to build on their capacity . . . “READY Appalachia“ will also help increase equity for our Appalachian people and ensure that the region’s resilience and success will transform their future,” said ARC Federal Co-Chair Gayle Manchin.
Participants will join 10-week learning tracks designed to help them strengthen their organizations and better serve communities. Upon completion, their organizations can apply for match-free grant funding for local projects. Applications for the first program – “READY Nonprofits” – is August 19.
