Applications open for two Google virtual accelerators

Twelve start-ups will be selected from across the U.S. and Canada for the 12-week "Black Founders" program and another dozen for the "Women Founders" accelerator.

Google has opened applications for its “Black Founders” and “Women Founders” start-up accelerator programs.

The deadline to apply for the latter program is July 25, while the “Black Founders” program is taking applications until August 2. Twelve start-ups will be selected from across North America for each three-month, virtual bootcamp. Participants will receive mentorship and technical project support, as well as attend workshops focused on product design, customer acquisition, and leadership development.

According to the websites for both programs, the accelerators are best suited for Seed to Series A revenue-generating tech start-ups that are headquartered in the United States and Canada. Selected companies should have a minimum of five or more employees and the founder and appropriate team members must be available to join all program elements of their cohort. In order to ensure Google can provide meaningful value, start-ups should aim to leverage artificial intelligence/machine learning technology in their product, service, or operations and/or show an interest in leveraging this technology in the future.
