Applications open for ‘The Works’ accelerator in Knoxville

The Knoxville Entrepreneur Center has been running "The Works" accelerator since 2013, and supported numerous start-ups across various induustries.

The Knoxville Entrepreneur Center (KEC) opened applications this week for “The Works.” It is the ultimate start-up accelerator program tailored for early stage software technology and tech-enabled companies poised for rapid growth.

“The Works’ is a 12-week intensive program designed to provide start-ups with unparalleled opportunities for growth, mentorship, and networking. With a focus on fostering innovation and scalability, The Works equips entrepreneurs with the tools and knowledge needed to thrive in today’s competitive market landscape.

The program kicks off on June 12, and will meet each Wednesday from 2-5 p.m. It offers participants face-to-face interactions with industry experts, facilitators, and mentors. Throughout “The Works,” attendees will engage in dynamic workshops, panel discussions, and field trips, providing invaluable insights into various aspects of entrepreneurship, from finance and fundraising to customer experience and leadership development.

“We’re excited to offer an immersive experience that goes beyond traditional accelerator programs,” said Courtney Jones, Managing Partner at BeLabs and Senior Consultant at DiversityWorksGroup. “The Works is the ultimate boots-on-the-ground accelerator for companies looking to set a strong foundation of technology, leadership, and culture.”

“The Works” is partnering with leading companies in the region, including Cirrus Aircraft and Clayton Homes, who will offer guided tours of their headquarters, allowing participants to interact with top-tier leadership and gain firsthand knowledge in customer experience, growth strategies, innovation, and leadership development.

In addition to exclusive access to industry leaders and field trips, The Works will be documented by Big Slate Media, featuring exclusive interviews and footage of the accelerator journey. Furthermore, Carrasco Trump will provide one hour of experienced legal counsel to assist companies in navigating the legal complexities of formation, financing, and workforce development.

Since its inception in 2013, KEC has supported numerous start-ups across various industries, with participants raising more than $150 million in private capital. From medical data technology to retail Point of Sale integration, KEC has played a pivotal role in nurturing entrepreneurial talent and fostering innovation within the community.
