Applications and nominations have opened for Nashville’s NEXT Awards

The event will be held October 21 at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Music City.

Who will be this year’s honorees for the 2024 “NEXT Awards & Entrepreneurs’ Hall of Fame,” presented by Amazon and hosted by the Nashville Entrepreneur Center (NEC)?

The process starts with nominations and applications which are now open. They close at 11:59 p.m. CDT on June 14. Between then and the event on October 21 at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Music City, finalists will be announced in each of the categories.

There are six industry categories:

  • Products and Services;
  • Financial Services;
  • Healthcare;
  • Hospitality and Retail;
  • Music, Sports, Gaming and Entertainment;
  • Real Estate and Construction;

Within each category, two awards will be given:

  • Start-up: Businesses that have been operating for less than 5 years; and
  • Growth: Businesses that have been operating for more than 5 years.

In addition, two special individual recognitions will be made:

  • Start-up Entrepreneur of 2024; and
  • Growth Entrepreneur of 2024.

To participate, applicants must:

  • Be headquartered in Middle Tennessee;
  • Have a founder actively involved in daily operations;
  • Show proven growth and significant impact within the last year; and
  • Operate a for-profit entity.

“The NEXT Awards spotlight the ingenuity and spirit of Nashville’s entrepreneurs,” said Sam Davidson, NEC Chief Executive Officer (CEO). “Thanks to Amazon’s ongoing support, we continue to showcase and celebrate the visionary businesses shaping our future.”

Joining him as Co-Chairs of the 2024 event are:

  • Janet Miller, a cornerstone of Nashville’s real estate sector and a past year NEC chair, currently leading Colliers Nashville as CEO;
  • Wanda Lyle, formerly of UBS, who is a seasoned global executive with 40 years in financial services and 10 years on various boards; and
  • Mignon Francois, CEO and founder of The Cupcake Collection, national best-selling author of Made From Scratch: Finding Success Without a Recipe, and a former NEC board member.
