ACCELERATOR NEWS: Rev1 Ventures names Kristy Campbell as President and COO

She has been with the organization since 2014 and previously spent nearly 20 years working within mostly venture-backed tech start-ups.

From Little Rock, AR:

Applications have opened for the newest cohort of five companies that will be selected for HeartX, a Little Rock-based cardiovascular-focused healthcare accelerator. Organized by HealthTech Arkansas and MedAxiom, the program facilitates guaranteed hospital pilot projects and clinical trials for accomplished, early stage companies bringing new cardiovascular innovations to the market.

HeartX is seeking companies in three categories: digital health and software, medical devices, and diagnostic platforms. Each company will receive $150,000 of investment capital and is guaranteed at least one pilot project or clinical study with cardiology practices in Arkansas and around the country.

The application deadline is April 30, and the accelerator launches October 15-18 during the MedAxiom CV Transforum Conference in Austin, TX.

Requirements for participation include:

  1. Being ready to onboard patients into a pilot project or clinical trial within three months of entering the program. For the current year, that means your clinical engagement should begin sometime from October 2025 to January 2026.
  2. Having data from other pilot projects. In other words, we can’t be your first pilot.
  3. Having raised at least $500,000 in external capital.
  4. Accepting $150,000 of up-front investment in the form of a SAFE or convertible note, with a cap and discount rate negotiated with the HeartX team.
  5. Willinging to issue a $50,000 in-kind investment position to HealthTech Arkansas in exchange for a non-commercial pilot project or clinical trial, access to the HeartX network, and a $50K in-kind investment position to MedAxiom in exchange for the suite of custom services described more fully on this site.

From Columbus, OH:

Rev1 Ventures, the Columbus, OH-based venture studio that helps entrepreneurs and corporations accelerate innovation, has announced the promotion of Kristy Campbell to President and Chief Operating Officer. Since joining Rev1 in 2014, she has been instrumental in the strategic vision of Rev1 Ventures, including building out the innovation programs that have supported nearly 1,500 innovators who have gone on to raise more than $2 billion in capital.

“Kristy has the expertise in knowing what emerging and growing startups need and has excelled during her time at Rev1 – most recently as our Executive Vice President and COO – so this is a natural evolution for both Kristy and Rev1,” said Tom Walker, Chief Executive Officer of Rev1 Ventures. “Promoting Kristy underscores our long-term commitment to supporting startups and spinouts in Central Ohio. She has the right background our region needs to build on the success of our non-profit initiatives and continue meeting the needs of entrepreneurs.”

Prior to joining Rev1, Campbell spent nearly 20 years working within mostly venture-backed tech start-ups as an early team member to grow revenue and organize effective teams. In her expanded role, she will continue to manage the day-to-day operations of Rev1, while supporting the implementation of strategic growth areas, including the build-out of new services and innovation space for software start-ups and life science spinouts.
