LEV Manufacturing picks Tennessee for U.S. e-bike assembly hub, bringing 288 jobs to Putnam County
This new Algood facility signals Tennessee's push beyond auto EVs into micromobility innovation.
LEV (Light Electric Vehicles) Manufacturing, part of Life Electric Vehicles Holdings, Inc. (Life EV Group), announced it will open its first Tennessee facility in Algood. The facility will create 288 jobs and investing $7 million in a 100,000-square-foot assembly and distribution center located at 2415 Burton Branch Road.
The location will become a central hub for the distribution and new assembly of Rad Power Bikes, following Life EV Group’s recent acquisition.
A growing industry
The U.S. e-bike market hit $2 billion in 2025 and is on track to more than double by 2035. Gloablly, McKinsey projects the micromobility market will reach $360 billion by 2030.
Tennessee is already the No. 2 state in the Southeast for anticipated EV manufacturing jobs, a ranking built largely on automotive EVs. LEV Manufacturing’s arrival signals the state is now expanding that footprint into micromobility.

“Establishing our Tennessee facility represents a major milestone,” said Robert Provost, chief executive officer of LEV Manufacturing and Life EV Group. “This location will serve as a central hub for distributing and future assembly of leading electric mobility brands. By bringing operations closer to our customers and investing in U.S.-based manufacturing, we are building a scalable platform to support long-term growth, innovation and job creation.”
Research partnerships on the horizon
But what may matter most for Tennessee’s innovation ecosystem is what comes next after their facility opens.
LEV Manufacturing has committed to partnering with the state’s research institutions on battery technology innovation, advanced manufacturing processes and workforce development. Ultimately, this will only compound the opportunities for the Upper Cumberland region and Tennessee as a whole.
“Companies that not only create jobs but also seek to partner with our exceptional research institutions are exactly the type of investment and business we want to attract,” said Stuart C. McWhorter, deputy governor and commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (TNECD).
