Nashville named fastest-growing start-up scene in the world by Pitchbook
The latest report shows the Music City is quickly rising as a place for entrepreneurs to gather and build.
What Nashville innovators have claimed for a long time is now becoming more clear to the rest of the country and globe: Nashville is a great place to launch a business.
Nashville’s growth as an entrepreneurial hub not a matter of opinion. It’s now a fact, according to the most recent Global Venture Capital (VC) Ecosystem Rankings, released by Pitchbook late last month. The report provided a an update on the world’s top VC hubs.
Growth Score (Q4 2019 to Q3 2025)
Across the globe, the Nashville area saw the biggest rate of growth in terms of deal flow, deal count, exit value, exit count, fund value and fund count. The Music City’s growth score was 68.2, coming in three points ahead of Sacremento, California, which came in second, and Austin, Texas in third.
According to Pitchbook, “it is worth noting that smaller ecosystems have always made up the bulk of the top Growth Scores, as these scores showcase locations that are gathering momentum.”
The top 20 global growth scores included 14 locations in North America and two each in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

Notably, San Fransisco’s deal value of $568.1 billion blows Nashville’s $5.8 billion out of the water. However, the rate of growth change for Nashville is more than five points higher, meaning more money, more founders, and more opportunities are flowing to the city.
