PYA cuts ribbon on new national headquarters in Knoxville
The move symbolizes the firm's commitment to growing from an East Tennessee home base.
PYA, the owner and publisher of Teknovation, is pleased to announce it has relocated its Knoxville-based national headquarters to a newly purchased and renovated 60,000-square-foot building in the city.
The move accommodates PYA’s growth and reflects the firm’s vision and its commitment, continuing investment, and excitement about the East Tennessee region.
“We’re not only invested in our future and our clients’ futures, but we also continue to be invested in the region and our national footprint,” said PYA President and CEO Marty Brown. “We are committed to investing in Knoxville, even as we’ve grown to have offices and clients across the nation. Even in today’s unsettled business climate, PYA continues to grow because of our commitment to radically responsive client service, expertise, and relationship-building. Our new building supports our growth trajectory, which is a testament to the trust our client partners have put in us for decades.”
In September, the Knoxville Chamber hosted an official ribbon-cutting for the new headquarters. PYA owners, leadership, neighboring businesses, and close friends of the firm joined the celebration.
At the ribbon cutting, Knox County Commissioner Larsen Jay, who also works as the firm’s Director of Business Alliances, helped put together a proclamation that September 18, 2025, will go down in Knox County history as PYA Day.
PYA currently employs more than 270 people in six offices across the country, in Knoxville, Tampa, Kansas City, Charlotte, Nashville, and Atlanta.
The firm serves clients in all 50 states with tax and accounting advisory services and healthcare consulting.
The new headquarters, located at 6016 Brookvale Lane, is the firm’s fifth Knoxville relocation since its founding in 1983.
PYA, along with PYA affiliate company, Realty Trust Group (RTG), a nationally recognized real estate advisory and services firm serving the healthcare industry, occupies 45,000 square feet in the building, and approximately 15,000 square feet was made available and is now under lease.
Other PYA affiliates include PYA Waltman Capital LLC, a financial planning and investment management firm based in Knoxville, and Teknovation, a digital news service for those interested in advancing East Tennessee’s economy through technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
Teknovation is housed in the new building, whereas PYA Waltman Capital is located on Ebenezar Road.
PYA is the only Top 100 firm headquartered in Knoxville to be ranked among the nation’s Top 100 by both Accounting Today and INSIDE Public Accounting.
PYA’s Tax services were recognized this year when the firm was named by USA TODAY as one of America’s Most Recommended Tax Firms for the second year in a row.
