Nashville among the 10 best cities for starting a business
Four of the 10, as judged by Spotify, are in the Southeast.
Nashville is ranked among the top 10 cities in the nation to start a business, according to a new study released by Shopify. Three of the remaining nine cities are in the Southeast. They are Atlanta, GA; Orlando, FL; and Raleigh, NC.
About Music City, Shopify writes: “For the past decade, Nashville has repeatedly appeared on various top 10 lists of the fastest-growing cities in the United States. The city boasts high GDP growth and a very low unemployment rate while maintaining a low cost of living and median annual income, which makes it particularly appealing to employers. It’s also attractive to e-commerce businesses due to Tennessee’s central location, which facilitates fast shipping times across the country.”
Others ranked in the top 10, in alphabetical order, are:
- Austin, TX;
- Boise City, ID;
- Los Angeles, CA;
- New York City;
- San Francisco, CA; and
- Scottsdale, AZ.
The rankings appeared in a blog post from Shopify.
