Celebrating Knoxville’s Top Workplaces for 2025, PYA leadership recognized, yet again!
PYA, the power behind teknovation.biz once again tops the charts for outstanding leadership. Winning a Top Workplace for the 7th time!
On Wednesday evening, 65 teams from Knoxville’s top-rated workplaces gathered under one roof to celebrate working for purpose-filled companies.
The annual Top Workplaces reception, hosted by the Knoxville News Sentinel, brings together a broad array of companies. Various industries were represented, including consulting practices, financial institutions, school districts, healthcare, and entertainment.
Organizations get on the list by having their employees voluntarily fill out a survey about the quality of work, leadership, culture, pay, and company pride. Depending on the results of the survey, companies are invited to participate in the celebration.
The Top Workplace was recognized in the small, midsize, and large categories, as well as some more specific awards.
For example, PYA, the power behind teknovation.biz, won the award for “Most Clued in Senior Management.” Mike Shamblin, the firm’s Managing Principal of Accounting & Advisory and Chief Risk Officer, accepted the award on the firm’s behalf.

“At PYA, our HELP Culture is a core part of who we are, and that extends from the top down,” he said in the acceptance speech.
This is PYA’s 7th time making the list, and the second year in a row where PYA’s leadership has been recognized. Last year, PYA’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Marty Brown, won the Outstanding Leader award (see teknovation.biz article here).

Other awards included the top workplace in the large, medium, and small business categories.
Axle Logistics won in the Large Business category, Pinnacle Financial Partners won in the Midsize Business category, and Paschal Solutions won in the Small Business Category.
