Tricia Martinez-Saab, Managing Director of the “Techstars Industries of the Future Accelerator” for its first two years, was featured recently in a YouTube video produced by CoinDesk Studios.
Now the Managing Director of the “Techstars Chicago (Accelerator) Powered by J.P. Morgan,” she discusses why she is hyper-focused on leveraging blockchain technology to solve large problems with unique solutions for underserved markets.
Martinez, who starts the interview by saying she is “obsessed with far-out ideas that can change the world,” describes her experience taking a start-up named Wala through the Techstars London accelerator nearly a decade ago. It was a blockchain-enabled financial services platform that allowed emerging market consumers to access in-country and cross-border payments and transactional services.
