First Coast Inno, which covers the greater Jacksonville, FL area, reports that Greenville, SC-based VentureSouth is exploring the launch of a chapter in the community.

According to the article (subscription required), the local chapter would be kicked off with a pitch competition in March, where five pre-selected companies will compete for a potential $1 million in funding. Leading the effort is Matthew Chang, a Venture South member and Chief Executive Officer of Chang Industrial.

The firm has 18 chapters including the new one launched in July in Chattanooga and led by Jay Shaffer (see teknovation.biz article here).
