Patents of “former Cincinnati start-up darling” being auctioned
A now defunct start-up that Cincy Inno described as a “former Cincinnati start-up darling” is auctioning its “Sweat Biosensing Patent Portfolio” in a sealed-bid auction.
As described in this news release, Eccrine Systems Inc. was focused on development of advanced sweat sensing technologies and sweat biosensors. The technology’s goal was individualization of the prescription of medicine utilizing the breakthrough platform for remote, non-invasive, and quantitative medication monitoring through sweat. As part of its work, the company developed non-invasive, electronic wearable systems for measurement and transmission of real-time human sweat data.
Eccrine Systems raised nearly $20 million in venture funding before it shutdown. Those interested can submit bids through midnight PST on February 16.
