TN Code Academy expanding into Oregon

100 Girls of Code(EDITOR’S NOTE: The following announcement was made by the TN Code Academy.)

Today we announce our official expansion beyond Tennessee! We are opening a “100 Girls of Code” chapter in Lake Oswego, Oregon this week! Our free computer programming events can now benefit young females in other areas of the country. Our program will continue to expand in the coming months as we are working with dozens of locations to open more chapters.

A message from the Lake Oswego Chapter Chair, Diana Laboy-Rush:

“I am so excited to bring the 100 Girls of Code program to Lake Oswego.  I have observed from afar the success they have had in inspiring girls to begin and tackle complex programming challenges in Tennessee and I have no doubt that the same model can benefit those girls eager to take on a new challenge. With the promise of over 1.4 million computer programming jobs by 2020, at our current rate, 1 million of them will go unfilled.  This program is an opportunity for girls to tap into a future that knows no bounds!”

Check out our website to find out how to open a chapter in your community. You can also learn about corporate sponsorship opportunities and join these great organizations below! Your continued support allows us to empower young females in cities big and small across the United States!
