Willow List shutting down
It was just a few months ago that we profiled Willow List, a local start-up that won the “Spring Vol Court” competition hosted by the Anderson Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of Tennessee. We described Co-Founder Dave Seeman’s latest pivot in that article.
Earlier this week, we received an email from Seeman announcing, “It is with a bitter-sweet heart that I inform you that Willow List will shut down this week.” He pointed all of the recipients to a recent blog post that described the challenges in more detail.
Many entrepreneurs understand the emotions that Seeman is experiencing, but they also embrace his concluding statement: “But while we failed to create a “successful” startup, we were successful in creating a great team and in learning about what to do next time. And there will be a next time!”
Great attitude, Dave. The region is well-served by those who are willing to try and, if necessary, tray again and again. Entrepreneurship is not a perfect science!
