Volunteer State posts impressive statistics in terms of NIH SBIR and STTR awards

Launch Tennessee reports some impressive accomplishments for businesses in the state in terms of successful applications for Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) awards from the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

According to this announcement, the state’s application success rate for NIH awards rose to 28.6 percent in 2019, surpassing the national average of 21.8 percent. More notably, perhaps, is the fact that the Volunteer State now ranks eighth nationwide in terms of the number of awards per number of applications submitted to NIH.
