Veteran Ventures Capital, Grove Street Fiduciary announce partnership

Knoxville-based Veteran Ventures Capital (VVC) and New Hampshire-based Grove Street Fiduciary LLC announced a partnership last week related to the former’s inaugural fund.

Under the arrangement described in this news release, Carl Amos Johnson, Grove Street’s Chief Investment Strategist, will be a lead partner and advisor to help VVC scale in support of investors and veteran-owned businesses.

“Veteran Ventures Capital is all about relationships and fostering access to capital, and this partnership reflects that ideal in providing a sub-one million (dollar) investment vehicle,” said Derren Burrell, Founder of the Knoxville-based firm focused on military entrepreneurs starting early stage businesses. “I would love to see military veterans rally to support military veteran entrepreneurs, and this mechanism provides that ability.”

Through the partnership, Johnson has constructed an investment vehicle for clients and others across the country to invest in Veteran Fund I at lower investment amounts than typical venture funds allow. They are pooling these investments to then join VVC’s Veteran Fund I as a limited partner, giving main-street investors access to institutional-level investments.

Grove Street Fiduciary is a veteran-owned wealth management firm.
