Venture investments in battery storage up while those in smart grid are down in 2019
Mercom Capital Group of Austin recently reported that venture investments in two different energy areas differed significantly in 2019. In the case of companies in the battery storage sector, investments companies increased 103 percent to $1.7 billion in 32 deals, while smart grid companies raised $300 million in venture capital funding in 38 deals last year, a 43 percent decrease.
