UT CIS holding all-day workshop on SBIR and STTR program
The University of Tennessee’s Center for Industrial Services is hosting an all-day workshop this month focused on the federal Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs.
The “SBIR/STTR Technology & Commercialization Forum” will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. CDT on July 23 at the Wellspire Center, 907 Gleaves Street in Nashville. Topics to be covered include: (1) overview of the SBIR and STTR programs; (2) State of Tennessee grants and matching funds; (3) technology commercialization strategies; (4) pitching technology concepts; (5) SBIR success stories; (6) protecting intellectual property; (7) contract accounting requirements; and (8) proposal tips for those submitting applications to the Department of Defense.
