UC System produces some “other country” commercialization numbers

You frequently hear people describe California and its economy as a country all its own. That descriptor came to mind when the University of California System reported its most recent annual commercialization statistics. They were:

  • 1,716 inventions;
  • 555 U.S. issued patents;
  • 900 international issued patents;
  • 257 licenses executed; and
  • 96 start-ups created.
