U of South Florida holds Innovation Match event
The goal is to create four start-ups by June 30.
The University of South Florida’s (USF) Technology Transfer Office hosted an Innovation Match last week to connect prospective business founders with USF’s more than 600 technologies available for license. It’s all part of an effort to launch at least four start-ups by June 30.
The cutting-edge technologies span everything from artificial intelligence to biotech, medtech, software, and engineering, but many of the high-potential innovations are sitting idle, waiting for the right person to step in and drive them forward. USF is actively recruiting founder-operators, Chief Executive Officers, and entrepreneurial leaders to take the reins on real technologies that have already been vetted internally for commercial potential.
USF staff members will also review the full suite of resources exclusively available to start-up founders, including:
- Co-working and lab space;
- Grant writing and funding support;
- Direct access to translational research grants (state and federal); and
- Connections to mentors, talent, and legal support.
