Two of Inc. Magazine’s Top 100 Female Founders call Tennessee home
By Shannon Smith, Teknovation Assistant Editor, PYA
We as a society love lists of influential people. Who hasn’t wondered if maybe they’d be named to a local 40 under 40 publication?
For entrepreneurs, making it onto these lists can be a catalyst for their business and the recognition they crave to show they’re making a difference.
Since 2019, the big list targeting women entrepreneurs is Inc. Magazine’s Top Women Entrepreneurs of the Year. This list compiles 100 Female Founders who are making a difference with their companies.
For the first time since this list was born, Tennessee has a spot. Actually, two spots.
Anna Love, founder of Stoked, LLC, and Carter Barnhart, founder of Charlie Health, are both on the 2022 list.
Stoked, LLC, is a Nashville-based global design firm.
Charlie Health, also based in Nashville, offers personalized intensive mental healthcare.
Eight other women in the southeast are also featured on that list. They include:
- Ashlee Ammons, Mixtroz, Birmingham, AL and her mother, Kerry Schrader, whose startup was first spotlighted in this June 2017 teknovation.biz article and has been the subject of multiple posts since then
- Tisha Thompson, LYS Beauty, Atlanta, GA
- Cherie Kloss, SnapNurse, Atlanta, GA
- Pinky Cole, Slutty Vegan, Atlanta, GA
- Sandeep Ahuja, cove.tool, Atlanta, GA
- Amanda Levinson, NeedsList, Durham, NC
- Natasha Freidus, NeedsList, Durham, NC
