There’s a new product offering from Winter Innovations

It's called the StitchStand™ and is a complement to the already-in-the-market Use of EasyWhip®device.

There’s a new product offering from Winter Innovations, the start-up co-founded by Lia Winter and Preston Dishner while they were graduate students at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Named the StitchStand™, Winter told us that it “is a simple and affordable graft preparation stand designed to eliminate barriers for facilities that have previously lacked access to these tools. Unlike other options on the market, the StitchStand™ has no high upfront costs or restrictive purchase requirements — such as committing use of allografts or minimum purchase orders of other products. This freedom allows facilities to improve surgical workflows without unnecessary financial burdens.”

Why was it developed?

“We were inspired to develop the StitchStand™ after recognizing that many operating rooms still relied on improvised methods for graft prep, such as having team members manually hold grafts during stitching,” Winter explained. “Use of EasyWhip® (the initial offering from Winter Innovations) and the StitchStand™ together creates a synergistic effect, accelerating graft preparation and reducing overall surgical time.”

The first customer and user of the StitchStand™ was Dr. Dror Paley of the renowned Paley Orthopedic and Spine Institute in Palm Beach, FL. His adoption of the StitchStand™ demonstrates its ability to meet the needs of even the most advanced surgical teams.
