The Enterprise Center names its next President and CEO

Monique Kuykendoll Quarterman is relocating from Kentucky to succeed Deb Socia who announced her retirement in March.

The Enterprise Center (TEC) in Chattanooga has a new President and Chief Executive Officer.

Monique Kuykendoll Quarterman, who has served as Executive Director of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development, will succeed Deb Socia who has served in that role for the past five years. The transition in leadership will occur on July 15, although the announcement said Socia will remain at TEC in an advisory role through the fall. She announced her plans to retire in mid-March.

Before assuming her current role with the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development, Quarterman served as Executive Director of Kentucky Commercialization Ventures. She was selected after a nationwide search that attracted 240 applicants.

Quarterman is a globally recognized leader in entrepreneurship with a specialization in product development (academic/institutional and startup), public-private collaborations, and inclusive innovation.

“I look forward to bringing my professional and personal experiences in championing community to The Enterprise Center so that we, together, can reach even more Chattanoogans with technology to improve career trajectories, health outcomes, and quality of life,” she said. “TEC has demonstrated its value in neighborhoods across Chattanooga under Deb Socia, and I am honored to play a leading role in continuing its bright future. There is opportunity for everyone.”

The Enterprise Center is well-known for its “Tech Goes Home” program.
