TenHats launches survey to gauge alignment of senior leaders, IT departments
Companies can complete the less than 10-minute survey through the end of October.
It should be a given that Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) want their colleagues to understand the business objectives of the company and how their work contributes to the enterprise’s success. Yet, how well are those goals understood and the corresponding work aligned?
Brian Strong, CEO of Knoxville-based TenHats, says alignment is particularly important for senior leadership and information technology (IT) departments. “Everyone runs a technology company to some aspect because IT is an integral part of any company’s success,” he emphasizes. “I talk to small and large companies regularly, and anecdotally it seems like there is a big disconnect.”
To gauge just how closely aligned IT departments and senior leaders are, TenHats is launching an annual survey and is inviting local companies to participate through the end of October. Those who do will begin receiving reports analyzing the responses and implications either late this year or in early 2024.
“You are going to get data back you can use,” says Aaron Sherrill, TenHats Chief Technology Officer who is leading the effort. “It will take less than 10 minutes to complete the survey.”
He identified several questions the survey hopes to answer:
- How is the alignment viewed from those in a company’s IT department?
- How do non-IT personnel in the company view the alignment?
- How are IT departments and their employers preparing for the digital future?
- How are they specifically addressing artificial intelligence?
