Techstars announces new Web3 accelerator based in Boston
Techstars, the global investment business that provides access to capital, one-on-one mentorship, and customized programming for early-stage entrepreneurs, has announced a new accelerator program.
Titled “Techstars Crypto Boston powered by Algorand,” the new program will accept 12 Web3-focused start-ups each of the next three years. Web3 is an internet that uses blockchain, cryptocurrencies and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to give users control and ownership of online assets.
The three-month program’s first cohort will begin their experience in January, and Techstars is currently accepting applications for the inaugural class. The application deadline is September 14. Techstars is seeking companies focused on sustainable blockchain technology to power the economic models of the future.
Program sponsor Algorand describes itself as providing the “world’s most decentralized, scalable, and secure blockchain infrastructure.”
