TAEBC presents its top leadership award to Knoxville’s Dan Hurst

Our good friend and fellow Knoxvillian Dan Hurst was honored yesterday in Franklin during the annual meeting of the Tennessee Advanced Energy Business Council (TAEBC).

The Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Strata-G, received the annual “Thomas B. Ballard Advanced Energy Leadership Award.” Yes, it is named in my honor as the Founding President of the organization that champions the advanced energy sector in the Volunteer State. Among his many accomplishments and contributions to the community, Hurst was heavily involved in the exploratory efforts that preceded the founding of the TAEBC and served as an early member of the Board of Directors.

On a personal note, Dan Hurst epitomizes the term servant leader; he lives it every day, and it is an honor for the first recipient of the award, other than me, to be a person with the leadership excellence and sense of humanity that he displays. That was clearly underscored when he and the Strata-G team won the 2019 U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s “Dream Big Small Business of the Year Award” (see our article here.)

We’ll have more coverage on the TAEBC annual meeting in Monday’s edition of teknovation.biz.
