Super South opens its three-day run on April 15 in Atlanta.
As defined on its webpage, the event “unites global visionaries to drive transformative and resilient solutions.” Super South is focused on innovators, entrepreneurs, academics, policymakers, and civic leaders who are working to foster a circular economy, showcasing sustainable technologies, and accelerating climate action.
Focus areas include:
- Clean energy;
- Smart communities;
- Land;
- Water;
- Industry and infrastructure; and
- Smart lifestyle.
Among the nearly 200 speakers listed on the website are:
- Former Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke, now Administrator of the Rural Utilities Service in the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
- Marilyn Brown, a Regents’ and Brook Byers Professor of Sustainable Systems in the School of Public Policy at the Georgia Institute of Technology. She joined Georgia Tech in 2006 after 22 years at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL).
- Susan Hubbard, ORNL’s Deputy Lab Director for Science and Technology.
