“Start Here Pitch Competition” coming to Cookeville in mid-November

In partnership with Highlands CareerFest and the Tennessee Tech Center for Rural Innovation, The Biz Foundry in Cookeville has announced that the two organizations are hosting the “Start Here Pitch Competition” on November 17.

Local, regional and national start-ups looking to launch in the Upper Cumberland region are invited to apply for the competition for a chance to win $10,000 and an opportunity to pitch to the Upper Cumberland Angel Investors Fund.

Application criteria include four musts:

  • Plan on growing to $1 million or more in revenue or adding $1 million or more in revenue within three years;
  • Plan to grow to more than five employees or add more than five employees, also within 3 years;
  • Serve a regional or national market; and
  • Some lineage to the Upper Cumberland region – started here, will start here, interested in starting here, or interested in relocating to the region.
