Cultivation Capital, an early stage venture capital firm with a strong footprint in the Midwest, has announced plans to open a Southeast office in Greenville, SC.
The firm invests in software technology, life sciences and agriculture technology companies. It was founded in 2012 and has invested in more than 150 companies since then.
According to this article, the decision to setup an office in Greenville was spurred primarily by the area’s growing start-up community, coupled with its proximity to major entrepreneurial centers in Charlotte and Atlanta. It also helped that the South Carolina Research Authority was involved in recruiting the firm.
