SSTI study finds that largest SBIR/STTR funders are DoD, HHS
SSTI took a deep dive on the federal Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs in the latest issue of its weekly SSTI Digest.
The analysis over the 10-year period from 2009 to 2018 revealed that two federal agencies were the top contributors to SBIR/STTR spending in every state and the District of Columbia. The Department of Defense accounted for the greatest spending in 29 states while the Department of Health and Human Services was the greatest funder in 22 states.
