Southeastern stops on SBA’s annual “SBIR Road Tour” are April 14-17

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has announced the launch of its 17-state “SBIR Road Tour” with stops in four cities in the Southeast the week of April 13-17.

The sessions, designed to connect entrepreneurs working on advanced technology to one of the country’s largest source of early stage funding – the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs, will visit Richmond, VA (April 14); Raleigh/Durham, NC (April 15); Columbia, SC (April 16); and Atlanta (April 17).

“SBA is focused on helping small businesses grow and expand,” said SBA Administrator Jovita Carranza. “The $4 billion in federal early stage funding is often a critical piece to maturing an entrepreneur’s research idea into a product or service. The Road Tours bring the federal managers to the entrepreneur and target areas and individuals that are underrepresented when it comes to receiving federal R&D funding.”

For readers in West Tennessee, the Central Southern Tour will make five stops the week November 2-6. Those locations include Jackson, MS; Shreveport, LA; and Fayetteville, AR.
