Southeast Shoutouts | Techstars alum FLUIX presents at Florida Venture Capital Conference”

Other highlights include plans for Auburn University's new Research and Innovation Campus in Huntsville's Cummings Research Park.

From Miami but With Knoxville Ties:

FLUIX Inc., a participant in Cohort 1 of the “Techstars Industries of the Future Accelerator,” was one of 33 start-ups that were invited to pitch at last week’s “Florida Venture Capital Conference.” The company continues to assemble its Turbulent Liquid Cooling devices in the greater Knoxville region through a partnership with TGS Precision.

From Huntsville, AL:

Auburn University has big plans for its new Research and Innovation Campus in Huntsville’s Cummings Research Park (CRP). With more than 300 companies, more than 26,000 employees and 13,500 students, CRP is the nation’s second largest research park in the country and the fourth largest in the world. Auburn has big plans for the land and 40,000 square feet of ultra-modern space it recently secured. Those plans, described here. include a mini-campus with more buildings is coming, and this is just the start.

From Birmingham, AL:

TechBirmingham and Telegraph Creative have announced that Sloss Tech will return on June 9 after a three-year hiatus report from due to the COVID-19 pandemic. According to this report, the tech start-up and entrepreneurial celebration packed Birmingham’s Lyric Theatre for four years before going dark in 2020. The event will feature “the best and the brightest of today’s tech entrepreneurs, both nationally and locally,” according to an announcement on social media.

From North Carolina:

Three Tar Heel state-based enterprises – Innovate Carolina, Novant Health Innovation Lab of Novant Health System, and the Digital Health Institute for Transformation (DHIT) – have announced the acceleration of a new initiative aimed at increasing digital health innovation capacity and driving social impact across North Carolina and beyond. Through the NC Health Innovation District (NCHID) initiative, DHIT, Innovate Carolina, and Novant Health Innovation Lab will partner with leading organizations, experts and communities to deliver and evolve a statewide collaboration platform including digital health masterclasses, roundtables, workshops and real-world challenges in order to facilitate readiness and adoption of digital health innovations. By leveraging the latest technologies and social innovation approaches, this initiative will create new partnerships and models of engagement across North Carolina that will help improve access to healthcare, enhance patient outcomes, decrease healthcare costs and reduce health inequities. These innovations can also be scaled beyond the state to help other communities both nationally and abroad.
