Shockwave Motors working to build first prototype of its Draco Sports Trike

John McMillan reports that Shockwave Motors Inc. has taken the next steps to finalize the design and build the prototype of its Draco Sports TrikeTM. It is the company’s newest electric vehicle and, as McMillan says, “is designed to enhance the pure joy of driving – yet still with an eye on safety.”

The Draco reverse trike is smaller and more agile than the Defiant EV3 RoadsterTM. It’s also lighter and faster off the line. The single rear drive hub motor is almost as powerful as the drive motor in the Defiant, yet the Draco is about half the weight. While a body may be optional at a later time, for now it will be modeled along the lines of a rail buggy.

McMillan adds that the Draco seats two, should have a range of more than 100 miles, and plugs into a standard 120-volt outlet for a complete charge in about eight hours. Level II charging will be an option, and the top speed is about 90 miles per hour.
