Seven finalists named for “What’s the Big Idea 48-Hour Pitch Competition”
Seven finalists have been selected from nearly 100 applicants to compete in the annual “What’s the Big Idea 48-Hour Pitch Competition” organized by the Knoxville Entrepreneur Center (KEC) for The Development Corporation of Knox County.
The event kicks-off at 6 p.m. February 28 and runs throughout the weekend at KEC’s office on Market Square. During that time, mentors and industry experts will help the participants refine their ideas and prepare for the pitch competition. The “Shark Tank-style” finale will take place March 1 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Scruffy City Hall, just across Market Square from KEC. The winner will be eligible for up to $10,000 in business-launch reimbursement costs.
The seven finalists are:
- Day One;
- Doula Ink;
- GridFruit (see a previous biz article on the start-up here);
- LaunchParty;
- PowerUp Fitness (read a previous biz article here);
- Primeaux; and
- Songboarding.com.
In addition to KEC and The Development Corporation, Harper Auto Square is also a sponsor. The public is invited to attend the finale. Click here to register.
