Seattle company uses “SCRA Relocation Assistance Grant” to move to Palmetto State

The South Carolina Research Authority (SCRA) spotlighted a company in its latest newsletter that was founded in Seattle and recently relocated its Operations Center to Anderson County in the Palmetto State. The company is named Sync.MD, and its focus is on allowing users to store encrypted health care information on their smartphones.

What’s so special about a company that will initially bring 10 jobs to the Upstate area with more hiring taking place throughout the summer? Well, we noted that part of the incentive for relocating came via what is termed an “SCRA Relocation Assistance Grant.” According to the SCRA website, the program is for “established, for-profit technology companies relocating to South Carolina”  and the actual amount of funding available is “to be determined and may be milestone-based.”
