Details for the finale of the inaugural “Scipreneur Challenge” on November 7 have been announced. The event, beginning at 6 p.m., will be held in Room 147 of the Joint Institute for Advanced Materials on the University of Tennessee (UT) Research Park at Cherokee Farm.
As noted in this recent teknovation.biz article, the nearly semester-long event begin September 5. It is sponsored by the Knoxville Chapter of Life Science Tennessee’s Academic Alliance to help accelerate the commercialization of technologies from research institutions while simultaneously providing individuals interested in technology-based entrepreneurship, particularly in the life sciences, the opportunity to improve their understanding of the proverbial “bench to the market” process.
Technologies that the students are using were made available by the UT Research Foundation and Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
