Sanji Malhotra featured in this week’s “Lunch and Learn” from Sheltowee Angel Network
Sanjiv Malhotra, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Sparkz Inc. that has been the subject of several recent teknovation.biz posts, will be the speaker at the September/October session of the Sheltowee Angel Network‘s “Lunch and Learn” series.

Sparkz is a battery company that has developed a cobalt free, Iron Aluminum battery that offers increased energy density and at a lower cost that current rechargeable electric vehicle batteries. The company is focused on the fork-truck market initially for which it has $400 million in purchase orders, but will expand into other vehicle and grid-based applications.
We first spotlighted this licensee of multiple technologies from Oak Ridge National Laboratory in a February 2021 teknovation.biz article. Subsequent coverage has focused on funding through California Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (see April teknovation.biz post here) and the California Energy Commission as well as plans to build a gigafactory in West Virginia.
Sparks operates a lab in the Fairview Technology Center in the Solway area of West Knox County.
