Two of San Diego’s oldest start-up groups — Connect and the San Diego Venture Group — are merging into one entity, creating what could be a powerhouse of influence with more money, more connections, and ultimately more support for the startup scene. The combined entity will be a start-up accelerator on steroids, helping to train, fund and fuel new tech and life science companies in San Diego. Connect created Springboard, the model that is used by the Life Science Network and the Energy Mentor Network.
