Rural success stories to be spotlighted at early November event in Raleigh

The focus of a November 7 event organized by WRAL TechWire is on rural economic development in North Carolina, but that certainly does not mean that individuals from other states cannot learn from the experience of our neighbors to the east.

From 7:30 to 10 a.m. at the NC Rural Center in Raleigh, several case studies will be highlighted during the “Leadership in Rural Innovation” program. The presentations will focus on:

  • The City of Wilson where leaders continue to leverage public private partnerships to spawn and support entrepreneurship from Main Street to high tech; and
  • Initiatives in Sanford and Lee County that have created opportunities for entrepreneurial growth while simultaneously paving the road toward the county becoming one of North Carolina’s growing life science success stories.
