Rebranded energy and climate-focused accelerator underway in Vermont
Just three months after Techstars and Alabama Power announced the launch of the “Techstars Alabama EnergyTech Accelerator” located in Birmingham, there’s another rebranded energy-focused accelerator that has been announced “way up north.”
As noted in this news release, the Vermont Sustainable Jobs Fund is giving its Acel-VT a face lift and expanded mission. The program will now be known as the DeltaClimeVT Energy2020 business accelerator. The explanation is as follows: “Delta meaning change. Clime meaning climate. DeltaClimeVT is change for the better.” It is focused on start-up and/or seed stage technology ventures that offer products or services including smart home and building technologies that are aimed at reducing fossil fuel use and greenhouse gas emissions in buildings, enable better integration of distributed resources and smart building technologies, and increase resiliency and/or support demand management strategies that avoid peak time energy usage.
