Qubit Engineering, RES announce new collaboration
RES, the world’s largest independent renewable energy company active in onshore and offshore wind, solar, energy storage and transmission and distribution, and Knoxville-based start-up Qubit Engineering Inc. have announced a new collaboration.
The two have started collaborating to optimize some wind farm layouts in RES’ development portfolio with support from quantum optimization technology developed by Qubit. The optimization technology, inspired by and deployed on quantum computers, will complement the expertise of RES’ technical team of over 50 renewable energy specialists. Together, Qubit and RES will design turbine layouts to produce the optimal energy output for wind farms in development.
