Universities, public and private sector collaborating as RDU prepares to absorb thousands of new jobs
In successive months earlier this year, the greater Raleigh-Durham area experienced two major announcements – Google said in March that the company would establish a Google Cloud hub in Durham that will create more than 1,000 engineering jobs and Apple announced in April that it plans to build a new campus and engineering hub in the Raleigh-Durham area. The latter move will create about 3,000 new jobs in machine learning, artificial intelligence, software engineering, and other fields.
