ORNL, PNNL making IP portfolios available under different terms and conditions

Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) is making a portfolio of more than two dozen COVID-19 Related Technologies available for licensing at no cost under its “COVID-19 Rapid Access Licensing Program.”  As described on this webpage, “The goal of this program is to provide industry partners with access to ORNL innovations as quickly and seamlessly as possible during this public health crisis.”

The agreement is for a one-year period that would be royalty free and nonexclusive. Eligibility is limited to U.S. companies or universities. More information is available here.

Separately, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory has announced that it is offering its entire portfolio of patented technologies on a research trial basis (i.e., at no cost through the end of 2020) to spur economic development and ultimately create new jobs. That means the standard $1,000 fee will be waived for organizations and entrepreneurs interested in signing a non-exclusive exploratory license agreement. Learn more here.
