Pew spotlights Tennessee’s efforts to expand broadband
Tennessee’s efforts to expand broadband are highlighted in a new report released today by the Pew Charitable Trusts. Titled “How States are Expanding Broadband Access,” the report features best practices from nine states that are developing leading broadband programs to address critical connectivity gaps in their communities. Since 2018, the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development has awarded more than $25 million in broadband accessibility grants to support projects within 30 Tennessee counties. The department anticipates announcing nearly $20 million worth of additional broadband grants this spring.
