Pass It Down wins regional “Miller Lite Tap the Future” competition and $20,000

Pass It Down 2“We’re ecstatic,” Chris Cummings, Founder of Pass It Down, said when he called us after winning Thursday night’s regional event in the “Miller Lite Tap the Future” national competition. The win carried with it two big bonuses – $20,000 and a chance to win $200,000 in the upcoming national competition.

Cummings said nearly 15,000 start-ups applied for the competition, and 30 were selected for the six regional competitions.

The Chattanooga start-up had just completed the “GIGTANK 365” summer accelerator on Wednesday night and competed the next day in the regional event in Atlanta. Five other preliminary rounds are scheduled or have already been held in Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami and Philadelphia.

Cummings noted this was his third competition in the past few months. He was a competitor at Launch Tennessee’s “36|86 Conference” and won the “Audience Choice Award” at the Aging 2.0 Austin Global Start-up Search pitch event.
