Pappas Capital, SAS announce partnership focused on AgTech start-ups

Karen LeVert, a Partner at Pappas Capital and a member of the Board of Directors of Memphis-based AgLaunch, will lead an expansion of the firm’s specialized fund management business in a new partnership with SAS.

According to this article from WRAL TechWire, Pappas Capital and SAS will work together with the goal of ensuring that North Carolina is a leader in agricultural technology for decades to come. LeVert said that the collaborators plan to target “AgTech start-ups that can meet the world’s future food needs, more specifically in crop protection, seeds and traits, precision ag, animal health and nutrition, and indoor agriculture.”

SAS’s John Gottula, Director of Crop Science Agriculture, added that “SAS wants to work with start-up companies with interesting technologies who show promise and need help with data analytics. We have teams of problem solvers who come together to tackle business challenges companies are facing and we solve them through the use of data analytics.”
