ORNL receives record number of applications for Cohort 5 of the “Innovation Crossroads” program

Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) received a record number of completed applications from start-ups interest in participating in Cohort 5 of the “Innovation Crossroads” program.

“Our applications closed on the evening of October 31,” says Dan Miller, Director of the two-year program. “We received 82 full applications, which is the most (by far) that we have ever received.” The applicants came from 29 states.

As you may have noticed, we’re in the midst of posting spotlights on the four teams that comprise Cohort 4. “Innovation Crossroads,” supported by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Advanced Manufacturing Office and Tennessee Valley Authority, leverages ORNL’s unique scientific resources and capabilities and connects the nation’s top innovators with experts, mentors, and networks in technology-related fields to take world-changing ideas from research and development to the marketplace.
